I would like Planned Care to include an optional completion-based scheduling feature for recurring actions.
Currently, recurring Planned Care actions are generated using fixed scheduled times. For example, a 4-hourly task scheduled between 20:00 and 08:00 will always occur at 20:00, 00:00 and 04:00, regardless of when the previous action was completed.
It would be beneficial to have an option that automatically recalculates the next due time based on the actual completion time of the previous action.
Example:
Task frequency: Every 4 hours
Due at: 20:00
Completed at: 21:00
Current behaviour:
Next task remains due at 00:00
Requested behaviour:
Next task automatically becomes due at 01:00 (4 hours after completion)
This feature would be particularly useful for:
Repositioning schedules
Enhanced observations
Neurological observations
Intentional rounding
Wellness checks
Monitoring tasks requiring a specific interval between interventions
To maintain flexibility, this could be offered as an optional setting when creating recurring Planned Care actions:
☐ Fixed schedule (current behaviour)
☐ Recalculate next occurrence from completion time
This enhancement would improve clinical accuracy and help ensure that care interventions occur at the intended intervals rather than at fixed calendar times.
