We've found that the sizes of our drinking receptacles differ to the pre-set amounts we're provided with under the 'Nutrition eating and drinking' section on the handsets. This has led to inconsistencies in our documentation as our 'mugs' are nearer to 400ml instead of the pre-set 280ml.
If a client is offered 4 x 400ml cups of tea a day, they'd be offered 1600ml total, not the 1120ml that would be under the pre-set mug option. This leaves a total of 480ml of important fluid that could go undocumented due to the lack of being able to control this setting.
For the most part, every single size of cup we use differs to the ones already on PCS (and I've seen this over multiple homes I've worked in using this operating system). The amount of discrepancies I have noticed over the years due to this is shocking and it can make it really difficult to accurately document fluids, which can be really vital for my clients.
The potential ability to change the amounts I think is an absolutely essential part of our operation that has been completely neglected from PCS, the ability to also customise the name of each seperate entry (drinking glass, mug, lightweight mug etc), and potentially even add pictures of the crockery also could be game changing and make documentation so much easier for everyone!
Good morning,
Thank you very much for raising your idea. We are looking to change how fluids are recorded by allowing users to put in a custom amount of fluids, this will allow people to select from both pre-set values, but also enter their own to be much more accurate.
