Whilst the introduction of ABC chars on the monitor part of the system is great, this would serve a better purpose if it were available on the handset to be completed first hand by the staff dealing with the stress and distress behaviours as they do now with paper ABC charts rather than a second hand account from s senior member of staff who probably wasn't present for the whole intervention. I know they can click a tile in the emotional support section to start the process but would be far more useful if the staff involved could complete the ABC charts themselves
I completely agree, the ABC needs to be completed immediately on the handset. There is no way the staff have time to start on the handset and then complete on the laptop. ABC should be in a simple format:
Antecedent: Where? What Activity? Who was involved? What were the triggers?
Behaviours: What? How did it impact the SU or others?
Consequences: What happened next? How was it deescalated?
I agree. ABC Charts need to be completed immediately by the person recording the behaviour. Access needs to be on the PCS device for carers to complete
I completely agree with this suggestion. We have people in the home who generate over 20 ABC charts a day, it is impossible to complete them fully as that in itself would be a full time job. If the staff could access the charts on the handset they would be able to include all relevant information prior to management sign off
