Mood icons

We are not using the smiley faces because we don't like the wording they generate, for example 'was happy' or 'was content' - how can we make such value judgements? We don't want these comments attributed to us if if ever came to a court of law. Could the wording be changed to 'appeared happy'? We never actually know what is going on inside someone's head so we cannot really say 'was happy' . Sorry to be pedantic, but I really think it matters.
