Nutrition intake amount update

While the nutrition and fluid charts allow staff to record food and drink offered, I feel like it is often not clear how to follow up and accurately track how much was consumed. We are aware one can tap/click on previous nutritional recorded and update intake, but not many members of staff know how to use this feature.
Is it possible for any recorded food or fluid offered triggers a follow up event in the diary (similar to 'post falls check') for staff to come back and check how much was consumed. It may also be a good idea to lock out the amount consumed slider / icons for a time to improve accuracy of recorded information.
